5 ways to use Carol Tuttle Healing Oils
These essential oil blends ease your healing in simple, effective ways. You’ll get the most benefit if you apply them correctly and regularly. A little bit goes a long way—just a few drops can create the desired result.
Use each oil as recommended. Always read the safety notes before use.
Direct inhalation is the easiest way to activate healing with essential oils. Essential oils are uniquely suited to cross the blood-brain barrier. They are rapidly absorbed and interact with brain receptors in the central nervous system to support healing. Reprogramming thought and emotion patterns is about to get easier.
How to use:
Place 1-2 drops of essential oil in the palm of your hands
Rub hands together
Cup hands over mouth and nose without touching face
1-2 drops may also be placed on a cotton ball and put in pillowcase to inhale while sleeping.
*Inhale before and after your healing practices. To reinforce healing, inhale throughout the day as needed.
A soothing hot bath combined with essential oils opens up the body and mind to healing by reducing physical tension, stress, and anxiety. As you relax in an essential oil bath, your mind and body will more easily release repressed emotion and toxic energy to assist your healing process.
How to use:
Get an empty glass jar
Add 6-8 drops of essential oil and 2 tablespoons of Epsom or sea salts
Replace lid and shake well to mix
Pour into bath or foot bath, and soak
Soak for at least 10 minutes
The salt acts as an emulsifier allowing the essential oil to disperse evenly into the water.
*Listen to your daily scripts and affirmations while bathing.
Topical application allows you to target specific areas of the body, such as the tapping points taught in the Healing Plan. When you apply oils to the tapping points or bottom of the feet, you access reflexology and acupressure points for the whole body. Oil travels through pores, directly enters the bloodstream, and circulates through the whole body in a matter of minutes. It also activates your energy meridian system to release repressed emotion and negative thought patterns.
How to use:
Place 1-2 drops of essential oil on bottom of feet or back of neck
For general application or for use with children and the elderly, dilute 10 drops of essential oil in 10 ml of carrier oil, such as grapeseed, avocado, or jojoba.
*Before watching a healing session, put 1-2 drops of essential oil in the palm of one hand. Dip fingertips into the blend and rub onto the fingertips of the other hand. You may also apply directly to tapping points on the body.
Diffusing. Enjoy all the same benefits as with inhalation. Diffusing extends the benefits to the whole household, while also cleaning and purifying the air with a subtle non-toxic scent.
How to use:
Add 12-15 drops of essential oil to diffuser
Diffuse for 15 minutes every 2 hours
*Diffuse during healing sessions—both while doing your daily and weekly practices and techniques, and throughout the day to reinforce your healing.
Massage. Activate deep healing from head to toe by targeting specific points of the body. By diluting with a carrier oil you can extend application to a larger area, while staying within the recommended drops. Take your Carol Tuttle Healing Oil blend to your next massage visit. As you relax into your massage, you will be able to access the benefits of the Healing Plan at a subconscious level.
How to Use:
Get 1 oz. of carrier oil, such as grapeseed, avocado, or jojoba
Mix 16 drops of essential oil in carrier oil
Massage into skin as desired
Do a self-massage of legs, feet, and shoulders. Or invite your massage therapist to use during your massage.
Do a healing session from your healing plan before each massage in order to activate the body’s healing memory.

Lemon is beneficial for infections, weight loss, mental clarity, breathing, cleansing inside and outside of the body as well as the whole household. Phototoxic—avoid direct exposure to the sun or tanning booths for 12 hours after use on skin.
Peppermint is best known as a digestion aid. It generally helps to reduce gas, bloating, and relieves an upset stomach. It is excellent for relieving headaches and stress. A mental and physical stimulant, it can help you stay alert during long working hours or while driving. It can help reduce fevers, and give immediate relief for minor injuries, such as a smashed finger. It also helps to clear the mind and bring focus.
Spearmint is a popular oil in food products. While spearmint and peppermint are often used for similar purposes, it is far gentler, cooling, and sweeter than peppermint, and is a favorite among children. It helps to lower blood pressure, nausea, diarrhea, muscle cramps, and headaches. It keeps away moths, ants, flies, and mosquitoes.
Palmarosa has a slight rose aroma. One of the outstanding qualities of this oil is its use in skin care needs. It has many properties that are similar to Tea Tree, yet tends to be gentler on the skin. Has shown to help with hormone-balancing effects on women. Inhaling the aroma helps support the mind and emotions, both calming and lifting, and helps clear muddled thinking.
Blood Orange relieves inflammation in the body. Aids digestion by stimulating the production of bile from the liver. Is antiseptic and antibacterial aiding the body in fighting infections. Its diuretic property helps flush toxins from the body. Relaxes both the muscular and nervous systems with its antispasmodic properties. Helps lift the mood restoring the mind to a more uplifted state.
Sweet Marjoram is often overlooked, it has a wide spectrum of qualities that range from use on sore muscles, joints, bones, and respiratory issues. Other general uses include depression, anxiety, general mood enhancement, and insomnia. Marjoram was known as the “herb of happiness” to the Romans and the “joy of the mountains” to the Greeks.
Rosemary is indicated for a wide range of brain issues. Known as “the oil of remembrance” because it can improve mental clarity. When inhaled, it is beneficial for respiratory ailments such as coughs, bronchitis, asthma, and sinusitis. It is can be pain relieving for the joints. It strengthens the immune system as well as the liver and gallbladder. It helps balance the endocrine system and supports adrenal function. It is a tonic for the heart and varicose veins. Use in small amounts when pregnant.
Rose Geranium eases anxiety and depression. Balancing and uplifting, its sweet rosy smell makes it useful in perfumes and provides an energizing effect on the mind. Women use it as a balancing oil to help with infertility, PMS, hot flashes, and to balance adrenals.
Coriander has been used throughout history to stimulate the appetite by creating a unique flavor in foods. This oil has been known to help in circulation stimulation and lymphatic drainage. It is also used in balancing blood sugar, helping with digestive issues and relieving muscular pains. The fresh aroma assists in the treatment of exhaustion, or fatigue.
Dill Blend is a combination of both Dill Seed and Dill Weed and is non-toxic, non-sensitizing, and non-irritating. One of the gentlest oil blends, it is beneficial for the digestive, respiratory, and renal systems. Gently rubbing on a child’s tummy or bottom of feet helps relieve vomiting and stomach cramps. It works well with Coriander for balancing blood sugar. It has a calming effect on the autonomic nervous system, making it a useful aid for hyperactivity in children. It promotes lactation for breastfeeding mothers. Teens in puberty can use it to balance hormones and clear acne breakouts. It is antifungal, especially for environmental black mold.
Fennel has a slight black licorice scent and is beneficial for settling the stomach, cleansing the pancreas, and balancing blood sugar levels. Used in skin-strengthening formulas and for general circulation. Helps balance hormones in older adults. Used in specific anti-parasitic protocols.
Pink Grapefruit is an effective emotional oil for a wide range of needs, but it is an equally effective physical needs oil as well. Grapefruit is often used for kidney-related needs, as well as a stimulant to the digestive and lymphatic systems. Has also shown to be effective in balancing oily skin and helping to clear up acne issues. Alleviates depression. Juniper Berry is traditionally used for kidney and urinary tract related issues. However, some of its other known benefits are purifying the blood, lymphatic stimulation, and weight loss. On the emotional side, it is effective in helping with stress, anxiety and various nervous disorders.

If applying an essential oil to skin, always perform a small patch test by properly diluting the oil in an appropriate carrier oil and applying to an insensitive part of the body, such as inside of elbow. Never put oils in the ear canal or eyes. Use vegetable or milk to remove any essential oils causing irritation. Always keep essential oils and blends away from children. To slow oxidation and protect shelf life, store in a cool, dark place with lids tightly secured.
